How Popular Are Dogs... on a menu?

Did you know 90% of Korean dogs are inbred? Like, in a sandwich. credit goes to b3ta mailing list

I heard somewhere that humans were called “long pig” in some place where people were eating people. Where the hell are you from that you come across burning humans? OK, maybe you’re a fireman or an emergency room doctor.

Peking Moon?

Um… not sure about the “burning humans smell like BBQ pork”, but I loathe uncooked pork because, at least to me, it does smell like dead people. Not that I make a habit of seeking out corpses to sniff, but there was that one really bad train accident where a suicide wound up splatted all over the train I was sitting on. Sort of unforgettable, ya know? Accidents happen, and then you spend the rest of your life explaining out how you know what dead people or burning people smell like and people look at you funny.

From today’s Korea Times, Dog Farms Under Sanitation Rules:

That’s a ministerial (departmental) decision which, of course, will be attacked in the next session of the National Assembly.

Also from the above link:

That’s right. The restaurants serving the stuff are not regulated in any manner whatsoever.

Hi, I’m late to this thread. Congratulations to the OP for bringing up a topic which has led to a long running debate, covering a wide variety of angles from which to look at this subject .
Personally, I have no real issue with the eating of dogmeat - I do think it’s a cultural divide. I’m interested in the OP’s objection to the imbibing of dogmeat to enhance sexual prowess. I appreciate you may think it’s a backward process, but don’t these people have the right to try whatever means they have at hand in order to reignite their sexual prowess? Viagra, it could be argued, is a chemical enhancement. Could dogmeat not be regarded as the ‘organic’ approach? Even a placebo effect is better than none surely?

I’m sure ways could be suggested in which to scientifically study whether or not dogmeat exhibited such ‘properties’, but I think there would certainly be ethical objections if it was suggested by a western organisation. Perhaps an East Asian group might find conclusive proof that violent and brutal treatment prior to cooking does infuse the meat with libido enhancing energy, but I’d suggest that increasing the Oriental male sex drive is not something the planet is in desperate need of.

lol excellent point well made
