So, while I thought ‘Con Carney’ was a fitting name given the nature of how he was elected, now I have to rethink that name for something else:

Cave-in Carney? Too obvious.
Capitulation Carney? Not snappy enough.
How about Flip Flop Carney, or Floppy Elbows Carney? Yeah, that seems about right.

Yes, leveraging eastern Canadians fear of Trump and making them think he was the best person to deal with him. Obviously that is proving false.
Tax on! Tax off! A sign of someone who might have been successful within the constrained environment of an organization, but doesn’t know how to manage things in the fluid environment of politics. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that Trump would react like the violent ape he is. It’s what he does.

Dithering. Tax on, Tax off. I guess once he realized his mistake and corrected it is a good thing, but it was obvious that Trump wouldn’t like it and would object. Maybe he thinks he is more than a boil on the elephants behind.

So, we went from deals being made within 30 days after the election, to Aug 1st, to ? Even Mexico managed to get a 90 day extension. I thought this was a key platform? Wasn’t this guy the Trump Whisperer?

Carney said he’d make a deal. We can assume he meant a good deal when he said that. He said that knowing what Trump is. So, no backsies saying that Trump is mean.

The failure isn’t the issue. Telling people he was the one to make the deal and then not doing it, or not having the intention of doing it, is the issue. He lied, people believed it. Don’t get mad at me for calling it out.

What venom? He said he’d make deals in set time frames. He hasn’t. He said he’d do this knowing full well who Trump is. He scared the public to vote for him saying he was the only one who could deal with trump. So the reality is he either lied, he has no idea what he is doing, or he doesn’t want a deal.

So what you are saying is that Carney has lost your vote?

Putting aside your rhetoric that Carney is a weak flip-flop, THEN CHANGED to Carney’s hard elbows will destroy our country… I’m sure if he secured a deal you’d hate that one too. Or you’d bring up something else to hate about him. You just hate Carney. You hate him because he is the leader of the Liberals.

Its fine to hate Carney, and its fine to hate him because he is a Liberal. What’s hilarious is how you entertain this fig leaf that you hate him because of some honest evaluation of his policy and actions. No. You have hated him regardless of anything. You have hated him right off of the bat (starting months ago). You’ve hated him personally and quite consistently on that basis too.

Again, all fine. You are allowed to hate the PM on whatever basis. That’s your right. Just don’t think that your hated gives you the ability to convince anyone else that Carney is at fault for failing to secure a deal with Trump.

All Canadians will blame Trump. Anyone who is not blinded by hatred of Carney will blame Trump. We have all seen and heard of Trump’s shit. We all hate him. He has threatened our safety and livelihoods. Carney could whip his dick out and place it on the negotiating table telling the Yanks to “yank on this” and a GOOD chunk of Canadians would cheer him on.

Read the room. Even if you think you are brilliantly right (like a master debater), Canadians are so sick and tired of Trump’s shit that we have been poisoned and sicken by anything to do with him. That is just where we are at.

ETA: I have no evidence that Carney’s team are engaging in any uncouth behaviour during negotiations. When talking to the press they have been always extremely cordial even in the face of Howard Lutnick’s taunts and Trumps tantrums.
