That is awesome. I read all I can about them. The fascinating (and maybe sad thing) is that the native population seemed to know a fair bit about them and even described the way that the came close to villages and made funny sounds like talk but not. They claim that they were there as recently as 100 years ago and then they all died out. Who knows? There must have been a lot of them if they are able to find so many preserved skeletons.

Thanks for that. There was an excellent documentary on TV last week (SBS) which I think was a joint BBC/Discovery Channel show on Floriensis.

It nicely showcased the views of the team that found the Hobbit - why they belived it was a new species - as well as a group of scientists who disagreed with them. Both sides put forth good arguments. The show ended with the team searching out new caves to dig to try to locate more specimens. Guess they did.
