The economy here in Michigan is possibly the worst in the nation with no one buying cars.
My husbands salary has been cut. I am out of work and cannot find a new job, despite numerous interviews.
Every dollar is stretched thin. It is getting a little frightening.
I shop only locally at businesses who treat their employees slightly better than cattle ( Unlike the Big Box Stores who are awful.) who also invest themselves into the community.
I buy only American products and eschew the crap from China.
I buy used ( off of Ebay and Salvation Army).
I lurve handmade stuff ( Etsy.)
I support Michigan first and foremost.
I support my neighbors, friends and family.
Just live within your means. It’s stupid to think in terms of “helping the economy” as you are such a small portion of it.
I don’t agree with “buy local” or “buy American”. It does not good to artificially inflate demand for products or services that suck just because you think you are being patriotic or whatever. Buy the best products and services for your needs. I mean what do you care about the success or failure of a business that has nothing to do with you? Those local businesses that make American products should either figure out how to do it better and cheaper or they should go out of business and free up resources for something else.
