How to field strip a Firestar pistol?

I bought my Firestar 9mm pistol used, and I didn’t get a manual. I was shown how to take it apart at the time, but I haven’t taken it off the shelf for a while, and I forgot. :smack: I think I remember you pull the slide back about 1/8 inch until the marks near the safety are lined up. I don’t remember what happens next.

Can you help? I prowled Google for about 40 minutes, and I couldn’t find anything.

Line up the marks on the left side of the slide. Push slide stop out from the right side. Slide the slide forward off of the barrel. The rest is the same as for just about any semi-auto pistol.

Thank you, silenus. I think I had tried that, but I wasn’t pushing hard enough. This time I used a wooden screwdriver handle for a pusher, and the slide stop popped loose.

I had bought this gun for my wife’s smaller hands, and it doesn’t get much use.

If you contact the manufacturer/importer they will be glad to send you an instruction manual for your firearm.

Many newer arms even have that information stamped on the barrel. They want to reduce their liability as much as possible.

That’s trickier than it sounds. In all my web searching, I found no web or ground address for either Star or Interarms. Interarms dotcom is owned by some search engine, and they are offering the site name for sale.
