Ugggh. I just accidently deleted my mp3 folder with 600 songs. Don’t ask how. I don’t have norton unerase and I guess the folder was too big to put in recycle bin because they aren’t there. I downloaded some recovery program and it found all this stuff but no mp3 files. What the hell do i do?
You can try doing a system restore back a few days. Don’t know if it’ll help, though.
Cough. System Restore. Cough. Not only I don’t have that, but that just does registry and ini stuff doesn’t it. I deleted a whole folder.
i once had this issue…
i used ONTRACK Tiramisu Data Recovery Software:
and something called Recover 98 from http://www.lc-tech.com
can’t remember how effective they were… but they did list my deleted files.
Another program you may find helpful is [url=http://www.runtime.org/]GetDataBack.

They have versions for both FAT32 and NTFS.
and while you’re at it… avoid using the partition in which the dir was… any writes to that drive might overwrite your mp3s… so basically if it was your D: drive, avoid using the D: drive…
also, try to install the data recovery software on a different partition than that on which the dir was deleted from… so if it was your C: drive, install the recovery software on D: … though this would still write to the registry in C: it will reduce the risk of overwriting your mp3s…
Too late.
