We are current AT&T customers. We have 5 lines, and two of us want to get new iPhone 8 phones. The AT&T BOGO deal requires you to add a line, but we don’t want 5 lines. Is there a workaround to qualify for the deal, Preferably with everyone keeping their existing phone numbers?
I am not asking to do anything illegal or unethical, just a workaround or technique.
Purely legally, non-loophole-y, what about adding someone who’s willing to join your plan? We’re thinking of asking my mom if we can add her to our family plan.
Only downside in our case is that we live in fear of a nonagenarian great-granny getting a smartphone and learning to text her beloved Tightie-Rightie/Christian Glurge.
How long have you been an AT&T customer? I’ve had a contract forgiven (on a new iPad) since we’ve been with them for years and years. You could just call customer service and ask. They were surprisingly nice on the call.
Great user name. Orwell and JohnGalt in the same thread.
I will probably try calling customer service or go into a store and see what they say.
I was wondering if anyone has added the line (with a new number) as required, and then cancelled an old line. This may work, but I don’t see any way to keep the old phone number. I know my wife doesn’t want to change numbers, and I doubt her brother does, either (she and he would be the ones getting new iphones).
