How to get musical notes from my head to a computer?

I have very basic knowledge about music, but I decided to make my own amateur music using FL studio (a program where you can play all sorts of instruments, put them together, etc. and make songs)

Many people have the problem that they can’t think of a song, but my problem is that I can think of a song, melody and lyrics, I record myself singing the melody on my smartphone or the FL studio and repeat what I sang for a bunch of times, but I just can’t get the notes to follow what they are supposed to, so my voice is singing one melody and my notes are playing something completely different…

Is there a software that can somehow turn my ,voice melody" into notes? For example like 8bit music videos on youtube, maybe there’s a software that automatically converts to 8bit, that could maybe help.

Dunno about voice-to-music apps, but there are some very nice “music processors,” where you stab notes onto the staff. I’ve used this to get music from my head onto sheet music, and it works great. You just point and click, and, if you don’t like the note, move it up or down a little, until it’s right.

Personally, I use “Mozart Virtuoso,” but it’s not cheap. You can certainly find something for a lot less money.

(You can even go all the way down to BASIC, and use commands like “Play A” and it plays an A.)

Googling around, I found an app called HumOn - Simplest Music Maker that’s available for Android on Google Play that looks like it may do what you want. I wasn’t able to find a decent demo, though I didn’t try all that hard.

I hope this helps!

FL Studio comes bundled with a plug-in called Pitcher that is basically an auto-tuner. Just record yourself and drag the file into Pitcher and it will work out and display the notes.

Apologies, I should’ve said Newtone rather than Pitcher (though you can work out the notes from Pitcher).
