How to leave a trailer in New Mexico year-round

A friend of mine recently inherited a 38 foot pull-behind trailer with pop-outs. He’d like to put it a secure trailer/RV court in New Mexico for winter vacations. Where can I find information on good places?

(My Google-fu is weak and I keep coming up with meth lab trailer parks and KOA campgrounds.)

I just moved from Rio Rancho (just outside of Albuquerque) to Chandler AZ and may be able to offer some suggestions. Before I do though I need some info, do you know where he plans to stay or what he wants to do in the winter? Does he want to be near ski areas or as far away from snow as possible? Is he small town or a big city person? I am beat from the heat and heading to bed now but will check in again in the morning…

If he doesn’t mind not being IN Albuquerque or Santa Fe, the easiest thing to do would be to buy or rent a little lot not affiliated with a trailer park. Unfortunately in general, it’s gonna be meth lab country. That’s New Mexico.

There are one or two RV parks in every city I’ve lived in in the state. If it’s a city I go to on a semi-regular basis (Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Socorro, Grants, anything in between) I can check the place out and let you and your friend know which ones look good. Feel free to PM me if it’s within an hour of Abq and you don’t want to post the city to the thread. If you Google, for example, “Santa Fe, NM RV” without the quotes, it’ll return quite a few results in the “Local Business Results” section. If you’re looking to store it in the summer, many self storage lots in the area will accommodate it.

If you don’t have a city in mind, I would suggest Socorro or something south of it (because it’s warm!). If this is the case, if you can post some more details about what your friend is looking for and I can give more specific advice.
