how to remove the lilo dual boot screen?

The problem is I used to dual boot, my disk was split into a windows xp partition and a mandriva linux partition.

Now I have formated the linux partition and use this as a windows logical drive.

Although every time I reboot I still get the linux lilo boot screen asking me which operating system to boot, default is what it thinks is linux but when it doesnt find it, I get looped back to this screen. Im sick of pressing down, down, return to boot to XP.

Can you help me boot straight to xp ? (without setting it as default in lilo)

Boot the XP install CD, go into the recovery console, and type ‘fixmbr’.

I’ll add on here with a similar question - how do you remove the dual boot screen on a 98SE machine? I tried to install a dual boot with XP, but it failed (after googling “Abit BE6 Windows XP” I’ve decided to give up). So now I no longer have XP installed on a partition, but I still have the dual boot screen trying to load XP.
