Pave it over with asphalt or concrete. That will slow it down, and cut way back on the mowing requirements.
Search for the term “turfgrass management.” I know at least in the past there were some products golf courses used to try to slow grass growth on their fairways. I* think* they might have been some sort of glyphosate-based concoction. I have no idea how well they worked, whether they were ever available to the general public, or if they’re still even being made.
Plant 50-75 year old maples, ash, and oaks. Very little grows underneath them. Let the leaves pile up in the fall for the winter winds to blow them into your neighbors’ yards.
Put up a fence get a couple of sheep.
