How to Survive "Lost" (yes, SPOILERS for "Lost")

So, if you crash landed on a ‘deserted’ isle with the conditions of “Lost,” what would you do to survive and increase your chances of rescue?

A few random thoughts.

Rescue ===========

Salvage as much shiny, mirror-y, aluminum plating stuff we can find so as to signal planes and boats. Everyone gets a reflector on a necklace for instant signaling.

Create two huge Xs on the beach (at least 20 feet in length and 5 feet in width) with all dark stuff on the white beach. A satellite can see that.

“Your seat doubles as a floatation device.” There’s always the makeshift raft if it ever comes to that.
Health ============

Bury the dead.

Stop letting the doctor run off on side quests.

Set up a latrine (never a TV issue)

Water and food rationing, hunting, gathering.
Shelter ===========

Salvage, salvage, salvage, and move it all to higher ground. You never know when a tropical storm will decide to clear the beach.

Move the plane cabin to higher ground if possible and use it as a building.

Safety ============

As soon as I knew there was a huge animal on the loose, make spears and require everyone to carry one as a walking stick.

Tiger pits with spears at the bottom surrounding our camp. Light weight logs over them that allow us to cross the pit, but will not hold the weight of the predator. Set up trap pits with bait a little further out. See if there’s any cable in the plane to creat a snare trap a bear couldn’t break.

Any others?

If there were even one tiny insigificant or even accidentally realistic event anywhere in the first two shows, this thread might make sense.

But there wasn’t. Give it up. It’s television. It’s J.J. Abrams, who

It’s, like, metaphysical, dude. Latrines aren’t, like, metaphysical.
