How to think correctly about Israel and Palestine

Yeah, good luck with that attempt at a backflip, Nadia. Improving the economic lot of the Palestinians is worthwhile in itself if it makes them less likely to risk what they have listening to leaders who don’t care one whit about them. And it has the fortunate side-effect of reducing their birthrate, which is left unchecked may make all other problems a lot worse.

How you get “hate” out of that is your problem, not mine.

See, that’s where Bull sees the hate, and so do I. Wanting there to be a smaller Palestinian population relative to the Israeli population, and because a larger Palestinian population is inconvenient for the Israelis. Oh, I agree with the goal of making the Palestinians more prosperous and better educated, which helps slow population growth everywhere, and so much the better. But examine your motives carefully.

Red Fury, the author of the quoted material in your post is not someone that I would consider a reliable source of information. He also asserts that it was physically impossible for the WTC to collapse as they did unless bombs had been rigged to go off shortly after the planes collided with the buildings. He claims in this artlcle that 9/11 was a U.S. Government conspiracy. He’s a bit of a flake.

As for my own position, I see no basic differences in Israelis and Palestinians.

Done. I conclude both you and he are projecting.

Projecting what? I have no particular interest in reducing the Israeli population or birthrate! (Prosperity has already had its effect there.)

Neither of these statements are helpful or accurate.

If you want to go rant about a people in the most stupid and vitriolic manner, take it to the Pit, (or, better yet, off the SDMB).

How about if I narrow it down to the OP? Or is this not the post of a bigot?

It should go without saying that I do. They are just people. Well…there are some on either side that are certainly hatemongers – like you for instance.

Is out and out racism now allowed in GD?

Zoe, thanks for thr heads-up on Paul. I certainly don’t agree with Craig Roberts w/regards to 9/11 Gov conpiracies. OTOH, I do believe he is pretty much on point in this one…including the continued implementation of the Neocon doctrine.

I can only imagine how many are foaming at the mouth to have a go at both, Syria and Iran – not that hard to come up with yet another Bushit excuse to implement same.

Like they say…watch out what you wish for.

Tom

Never mind my query. I see you’ve already addressed it.
