Show_Biz, it’s true that you can use the Character Map in Windows, and keyboard shortcuts or Keycaps on the Macintosh. But what about people who don’t use Windows or Macintosh? (Probably a minority, I’ll admit.)
I also find it faster to type in, say é than go to the start menu, bring up the Character Map, and do a copy and paste when I’m using Windows. (On my trusty Macintosh at home, I have the keyboard shortcuts memorized, which is not too much of a chore because the keyboard shortcuts work across all programs, unlike Windows.)
DrMatrix, the list you used from my previous post was cut short (I guess when the threads where carried over from UBB to vBulletion.) Here’s a more complete list. As waterj2 and DrMatrix cleverly discovered, to use these codes you must preview your reply. (To see the preview post correctly you can preview twice, provided you are not doing something fancy like trying to show codes for the codes.)
