I am interested in purchasing some nutritional supplements from this manufacturer, http://www.nutrabio.com/
They claim to use pharmaceutical grade supplements and “We manufacture in our own FDA registered and inspected GMP facility: Since 1996, NutraBio has manufactured the purest pharmaceutical grade products available. We manufacture in the United States in our own FDA registered and inspected facility to meet FDA 21 CFR Part 111 cGMP regulations…” (from http://www.nutrabio.com/Main%20Sidebar%20Pages/main.quality.htm)
And that is exactly the quality I want. But how do I verify if what they say is indeed true? They have great prices and if the quality can be verified then I’d like to do business with them.
You want me to ask the company if they are telling the truth? As if what? They’re going to say “Aww shucks, you got us. We are lying through our teeth”? I was sort of hoping for some source I could check that is unbiased.
Short of hiring your own biochemists, you’re going to have to take their word on it. They’re not regulated or inspected by the FDA. The supplement industry is basically unregulated as far as quality goes.
I used to work for one of these companies as a microbiologist, testing for microbial contamination. My company happened to be one of the ones that actually cared and did the testing, but there are plenty who don’t. Before my boss was hired - he was the one that really whipped the lab side of things into shape - they used to set expiration dates by walking across the street to Wal-Mart and seeing what dates were on the competition’s packages. Then they’d set their dates later.
