This is true. In fact, my post-Victorian mother-in-law would not use the word “leg” calling them limbs instead. It was mentioned above that Japan didn’t fetishize breasts until recently. I believe that. And Japanese women rarely have prominent breasts. Contrast them with certain other groups, which I will not name.
But have you ever seen the grotesque breasts (and often hips) on many primitive carvings? That’s gotta mean something. I guess the answer is: it varies.
