Loretta Lynch has not been fired. She is still the Attorney General. Donald Trump cannot fire her as he is not the president.
Cabinet members typically write resignation letters at the end of the president’s term. If the next term will have a new president from the other party, it is usual that all of these resignations are accepted. (On rare occasions, they aren’t. Obama kept Bush’s Secretary of Defense.)
