How was your day?

We always kept our skunks outside.

As an airplane fanatic (not a fan, a true fanatic) you just lived my perfect day. I am happy that somebody did it but I would have preferred that it was me. I am not jealous though because I didn’t know about it in advance. If you plan to have another one of those, I have some really cool things to swap you in the ruralish and beautiful Boston area.

Follow-up: High tea was excellent. The setting was gorgeous; I kept expecting to see Somerset Maugham stroll down the stairs at any moment. (In fact, there’s a suite there named after him. He was one of the hotel’s more famous residents at one point. There’s even a good story of him arriving in Bangkok once deathly ill with malaria or some other tropical disease, and the German manager at the time ordering him removed elsewhere so he wouldn’t die in the hotel.)

We did see Scoop, but opted for Paris Je T’aime over Hairspray. All in all, an excellent birthday for my wife.

Actually, it’s been so long since I’ve NOT had a pleasant day, I can’t remember it.

Well, today we took our guide dog breeder to fun day at San Rafael, and she got to meet three of her puppies, who are just about to go back for the next stage of training. We found that at least six of the eight in her first litter have made it for over a year, a good percentage. We also got to meet one of her sisters. Beautiful weather also.

The thing about guide dogs - well over a hundred dogs spread around the campus, and I didn’t hear a bark all day.

Disappointing. But now it’s tomorrow, so it’ll be better!

A medium sort of day. Got up earlier than usual for me and considered going out and doing something but decided to stay home. Got on the computer and found out the board was down. Did some other stuff for awhile. Went into work in the afternoon. The ungodly heat spell we’re having continues (94 degress on my drive in today). But it was a mostly quiet day at work. I read a book (The Disappeared by Kristine Kathryn Rusch) and enjoyed it. Then we had a last minute problem that was minor but delayed me enough that I missed the start of Masters of Science Fiction that I had wanted to see.
