How well/badly does a modern PC with Vista cope with power surges?

One of my plug sockets is faulty so I am running a heater, a PC, a 2.1 surround sound speaker system, an external HD, and a lamp through one 13 amp 4-way adapter.
It isn’t floating on two flip-flops in a pool though, so I’m not quite that stupid.

If I overload the 4-way and it’s fuse blows how well will my computer cope with the sudden loss of power?

The OS has little to do with the ability of the computer to cope with power problems.

I would strongly suggest running the heater off a seperate socket, even if you have to run an extension lead from another room.

You might also consider buying one of these UPSes.
