How will Italian pro football/soccer change in the wake of the match-fixing scandal?

Italy’s top professional league, Serie A, is mired in scandal; its top teams are on the business end of a slam-dunk case which claims their management (but not players) conspired with referees to fix games. (For those who didn’t know, ya know.)

This is the thread for wild speculation on how Italian soccer will change, how it will respond, etc.

There’s a lot of talk that the top players on Juventus, AC Milan, etc. will take part in an exodus, migrating to other top European leagues, particularly La Liga in Spain. (Seems the coaches have already started!) How will this end? How long will it take Italy’s leagues to recover?
