How will the Bush Administration act if the Dems take Congress?

Yep…life will go on…
But it just won’t be as much fun… without all the end-of-the-world punditting* that we’ve had for the past couple years.

  • yes, I like to invent new words

Bush and his cronies are going to be retaining legal counsel because the Democratic house is going to be investigating six years worth of abuse of power.

A Democratic House would be enough to ensure that the massive “temporary” tax breaks for the insanely wealthy would not become permanent. A Democratic Senate, though unlikely, would ensure that we don’t get any more Scalia clones on the Court. Get a Democratic majority in the Senate and Bush could either choose Court nominees that the Dems could stomach (and alienate his own base) or nominate a series of Neanderthals and watch them get shot down in flames.

Bush will install his Evil Genius Karl Rove in a basement office in charge of creating shit piles for the LibDems to step in.

They almost have the mind-meld thing perfected too which will allow them to direct the actions of Rangel, Conyers, Pelosi, Reid and the rest… and it won’t be in order to stop them from doing supid things.

On a more seriouser note … if investigation is the order of the day, don’t you think a few Dems have a few things to worry about too? Or don’t you think that there Culture of Corruption problem has rubbed off on the little angels on the left?

Will a few Dems have to worry about investigations? Sure, there is a bad apple in the best of bushels. Is the culture of corruption anywhere nearly as great in the Democratic side as in the Republicans’? Not even close.

Think about it…if the culture of corruption were anywhere NEAR as widespread on the Dem side as it is on the Republican side, don’t you think we’d have heard about something other than Jefferson during this increasingly desperate (for the Republicans) political season? All we’ve gotten was Reid forgetting to note that a piece of land he owned was transferred to a corporate owner, a zero-profit transfer for him.

So says Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and BLD… could be fact…could be a campaign slogan by a bunch of LD’s bereft of ideas that are anywhere close to those of the people…we’ll see.

Who bothers to bribe people without power?

People with a long-term view on things. Buy your congressman early, while they’re still cheap.

I hear there’s a blue light special on Republicans this month-- they’re marked down about 5% in both the House and the Senate.

If Democrats take Congress, I predict that Bush will declare himself Dictator for Life, make Christianity the official religion of the USA, outlaw apple pie, and force everyone to wear cowboy hats at all times. Then he will announce that he is gay.

Blue-light special in a red-light district? Once you go purple, you never go… Urkel.

Um. Let me work on it a bit.

The only major legislation I see having a chance to pass is Bush’s immigration reform. The main thing stopping it before was the conservative Republicans in the House, and with them out of power, the Bush/Senate bill could actually make it through.

They’ll probably sit back and watch the antics. Quite similar to the monkey house in the zoo, actually.

Yes, I have seen the chimps at the zoo spend time watching the people passing by outside.

And flinging, ah, stuff at passersby.

The wailing from the Administration will rival an air-raid siren.

And be used to drown out as much as possible.

With luck, Rove goes to jail.

On what charge? See, the thing is, Bush is still in charge of the FBI, to the extent that that body is political in nature. Congress doesn’t arrest people, nor do they charge people with crimes.

That depends on who is chairing the committees, doesn’t it?

Not really… if I remember the good old days of Clinton scandal hearings, it was difficult for the majority to be the exclusive issuer of subpoenas.

Given the damage Bush has done, you can expect that to continue indefinitely, no matter what happens. Like when some hypothetical Iraqi terrorist in 2015 sets off a bomb in an American city because we killed his father and sister and raped his mother in 2005.
