The Republicans aren’t much into subtlety any more, so I expect the reasons given to oppose her will be openly direct and to the point: She is a Black Woman.
Here’s how a local Democrat has demonized Harris, accusing her and Biden of pulling a “bait and switch.” FTR, this letter to the editor makes no sense to me as the writer plans to vote for Harris anyway.
I gave what for me was a substantial amount of money out of my Social
Security check to help reelect President Joe Biden. I did not give it to the
Kamala Harris campaign. I would never have donated to her.Any reasonable person would have read those pleas for donations and
thought they were donating to the Biden campaign and no one else. I feel like
I’ve been a victim of the old con “bait and switch.”Will I vote for Harris over Trump? Absolutely. Would I ever donate to her
campaign? Absolutely not. I want my donations back. Is there an attorney
anywhere willing to take on a lawsuit over this?One really pissed off Democrat.
Let’s not forget the endless and childish name-calling, and downright slanderous remarks by Trump.
It’s time to see a sea of blue “MCCL” baseball hats on left-leaning American women from coast to coast.
They’ll probably use her marijuana strictness against her, even though the Rs themselves oppose marijuana.
Point out that Clarence Thomas got his job for the same reasons.
So the smart thing would be to ignore her gender and race and concentrate purely on the San Francisco aspect. She’s a San Francisco radical! She turned San Francisco into a third world city don’t let her do that to America!
But nothing I’ve seen from them shows them doing that. They could help themselves they’ve gone straight to racist misogyny. That angle works pretty much exclusively on people who are voting Trump whatever.
That would be far too woke for them.
Sadly, it clearly doesn’t just only work on Trump voters. Racism isn’t limited to Republicans, Democrats have enough of it in their base to lose national elections. But maybe this time it’ll backfire?
“DEI” will be the buzzword of the day.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion: Kamala Harris is a token selection, who has no skills of her own, and is mediocre at everything she does, is only in the position she’s in because of a desire to promote a woman who is both black and Asian.
It’s weak sauce, and reeking of sexism and racism, but it’s what they’ve got.
The rejoinder is, “All Vice Presidents are DEI hires. It’s called “Balancing the ticket,” and it has been practiced since literally the 1800s.” Seriously. You think Sara Palin was chosen for her foreign policy wisdom? Harris was a former prosecutor and current Senator when Biden chose her. That’s who you pick to run against a felon. If you think Harris is such a lightweight, why is Trump terrified of debating her?
I have actually seen one republican call her a “San Francisco liberal”. That’s about the only slur that might work.
The most common one I’m seeing on Twitter is just a bunch of black people saying they won’t vote for her.
The next most common is women making very misogynist posts about how women can’t lead or women voters are stupid.
Next up is claiming she’s not black, because she’s Jamaican/Indian.
And the last I’ll mention is conspiracies about her having done something to Biden. Usually that she somehow stole it away from him while he’s completely unaware he’s not running.
What I’ve seen in a lot of Facebook posts (not specifically about Harris, but about DEI in general) is that “DEI” really stands for “Didn’t Earn It.” Expect that to be repeated, as if it’s the height of hilarity, multiple times from now until Election Day.
This leads into what I was planning to post, namely that there will be a two pronged attack against her.
On the one side there will be the attacks from the right working in racism, sexism and immigration.
But there will also likely be a more clandestine attack to try to discourage the Democratic base from voting for her. This will consist of armies of fake social media accounts arguing that she isn’t Liberal or black enough, that as part of the Biden administration that she is responsible for what is happening in Gaza, and that her prosecution background makes her a fascist.
Well, she could see Russia from her back porch.
I’ve already seen how low some will go as far as implying sexual abuse in pornographicnterms. I won’t repeat it here or anywhere. I Block that user too.

This is a fake quote, what she really said is that one could see Russia from Alaska- which on a good clear day- it true.
And the reason the fake quote took hold is because the real quote, while, true, is also absurd. It’s completely irrelevant that one ice-encrusted uninhabited rock is within line of sight of another ice-encrusted uninhabited rock, with one of them being nominally under Palin’s jurisdiction and the other nominally under Putin’s.
Didn’t you watch the footage from the rally in Pennsylvania? You didn’t see the “Joe and the Hoe gotta go” shirts? It’s all about how she slept her way to the top. One good thing about a Harris nomination is all of the insults and arguments against are tired and old already.
