It’s the executive branch. The only check on a lawless executive branch is impeachment and removal by Congress.
I’m sure Susan Collins will show her ‘concerned’ face before declaring that Trump will have certainly learned his lesson ‘this time’.

The US Marshalls which report to AG Pam Bondi.
So, you know, buckle up.
So we’ll officially be a dictatorship?
Arrest her, then, if it comes to that.
Which it won’t, because Republicans have spent too long trying to gain control over the judiciary only to render them powerless now.
And they really don’t want to empower Democratic politicians to just start ignoring courts when it suits them.
Who, do you imagine, would do that?
Literally any law enforcement officer the court orders to execute its order.
You really need to read up the chain of command here.
The US Marshals Service has only one ‘l’ in the name, unless you are referring to the discount apparel and home finishings chain that Pam Bondi became the CEO of yesterday. Which honestly wouldn’t surprise me at this point.
No, a court cannot just arbitrarily direct “any law enforcement officer” to execute an order. Federal courts actually have very prescribed powers outside of the domain of the courtroom and are ultimately dependent upon the executive branch to enforce decisions, subpoenas, and other law enforcement actions.

Wow, cool, thanks for that.
I just rewatched Justified and it was actually a plot point in an episode, so it sticks in my mind.

Trump repeatedly said he would be a day one dictator. Supposedly that was just for one day. But much he promised for that day one dictatorship, notably the mass deportations, has not yet been executed. So when I call him a dictator, I am just pointing out what he has said he would be, and is.
Will it be a long dictatorship? I hope not. But I think that’s our current form of government is a not yet fully consolidated dictatorship. The failure to fully abode by court orders is consistent with this.
Practically speaking, there are the following:
- Impeachment
- Loss of funding from Congress
- The 2nd Amendment
- Secession
- State actions (arresting people, seizing Federal properties, withholding money, etc.)
- Supreme Court decisions in favor of numbers 4 and 5.
- Military coup
Not to say that most of these are recommended. Really, if you look at that list, you could also say that it’s to the President’s benefit to keep impeachment as the key remedy.
Of course, Trump might be okay with items 2, 4, and 5 so long as it didn’t impact him.
Is this a serious statement because if it is, it’s laughable. Which law enforcement officers do you imagine report to and are controlled by the courts?
(Hint: There aren’t any.)
Your items 3 through 7 are not in any way Constitutional “checks” on executive overreach; they are literally a breakdown of government and lawful authority despite what your SovCits, self-trained “libertarian lawyers”, and “states’ rights” advocates may have told you.

The Framers initiated and executed a Revolution against their own government, and Jefferson was cheering for genocides in France. I’d strongly hold that the Constitution was written with unmentioned checks of those nature in mind.
To be clear, I’m not advocating for any of this. I’m wildly wildly hoping that we don’t get anywhere into the zone of political disorder, chaos, nor violence.
My hope is that the current government wrecks the economy enough (still ouch), that Congress gains popular support to impeach the guy and then reviews itself to eliminate all of the rules and laws that tie Congress’ hands so tightly to popular support.
But, as previously stated, Bondi is incredibly corrupt and Trump’s toadie.
Bondi will shut it down if the SCOTUS actually upholds anything stopping Trump. As your quote from Wiki says the Marshals Service is “an agency of the U.S. Department of Justice and operates under the direction of the U.S. Attorney General.”
I added the quote and bolding not for you SK but for any posters who think DJT can’t get away with anything illegal because “reasons”. The reality is that he may be able to get away with it all.
Yes, but you mocked Smapti because you believed a thing that’s completely wrong. At least mock the right thing.
Addendum to the previous:
- The 25th Amendment
It remains to be seen that people like Linda McMahon or Pam Bondi really want to see their home country fall apart… And all effectively for no reason.
The basis for basically all turmoil in the USA is that our TV and news media champions it, for ratings, thinking of politics as just another sport in the lineup like football and hockey.
Team Trump are liable to keep playing the game so long as they’re winning cheers from their home region and having fun going on rampage. But, there’s also going to come that moment where they realize that the thing their rampaging is just their own country and their own home.
The cabinet may turn out to be the most likely location that this all ends.
