How "with it" are you?

Who the fuck is Zayn?

I see what you’re saying but I’m talking about interfacing with work people or whatever as opposed to things you actually enjoy. I find a need to mix both.

not with it! <-

[Glen Quagmire]Is this geometry class? 'Cause I see a square![/Glen Quagmire]

(I don’t know who the fuck Zayn is, either. Told ya I’m not with it)

I suppose hanging out here on a regular basis probably improves my General With It Quotient by a dozen percentage points or more. I know I’m more with it than my coworkers and my neighbors in the apartment complex, but that’s not saying much.

Do you need a smart phone to be with it? How about watching TV?

Ah. I’m lucky enough to have coworkers who are even lamer than I am

I was never very with it even in my prime. But I like to think I haven’t fallen completely out of it.

I was at work about ten years back and I was talking about how much I was enjoying the new White Stripes album. And somebody asked who the White Stripes were. I said I was fifteen years older than her and there was something wrong if I knew more about current music than she did.

snort

But you are because ZAYN!

I’m 26, and I’m not with it. The closest I get to listening to the latest pop hits are where I hear the house remixes. I spend enough time on the internet to know what’s going on there, and I watch enough TV to have some know when a big movie is coming out, but that’s about it. I generally don’t hang out with people who don’t share my interests, though so I’m doing OK.

Yes, but hipsters are terrible. They try to be cool by trying really hard to be the opposite of cool.

I am with it because I am curious about everything, even things I’m not interested in.

Hey, Dude, I got news for you…If Dr. Who declared something cool…

^5

Yeah I get enthused when other people are enthused.

You sound like Prince - “Out of touch? My dear, I AM the touch.”

How did you manage to get my name on that quote?

“Two Broke Girls” isn’t a great show, but I do like it when Max kicks hipsters out of her restaurant because she can’t stand them.

But you forgot to tell us the most important part:

Did you find the CD and show up the unhip worker? (And whether I’m “with it or not”? Hell if I know)

What is that I don’t even? (This happened to me recently too - internets!)

You broke the internets!

Yeah same here. I don’t wake up every morning and read the EW home page. But somehow I hear/read about stuff. Probably get to it a lot slower than someone half my age but I know enough about stuff here and there to realize what’s going on in the world of pop culture.

Can’t say I’m in to most of it but I do not ignore it.

Yep.

AGAIN?!?!

Dude (ess?)

Did you just listen or WATCH too.

Apparently watching the Ellen and Jimmy Kimmel shows are enough for me to keep up with things. While I’ve never seen an episode of Jersey Shore or any of the Kardashian shit, I know who all the morons are. I peruse the top YouTube music videos, and subscribe to Phil DeFranco, SourceFed, Ray William Johnson, and they keep me up with the current thoughts and memes, and I follow links my friends leave on FB. I guess that’s plenty. I haven’t had a “who’s that”? moment that I haven’t been able to pull off with a brush off about how lame it is if I don’t know. So, so far, so good I guess!
