It doesn’t fill with yolk in humans. It’s a thickish membrane which (as noted above) is making a fetal blood supply, and it is involved in processing nutrients that pass THROUGH it from the maternal blood supply. It doesn’t have any nutrients or yolk itself.
It probably tastes like bloody paper.
