I tried googling “Case Studies in Bioethics” and the case #, but I didn’t find anything.
In history a while ago we did a thing on dialectical analysis/moral choices, and the presented material had the cite : “Case Studies in Bioethics, Case 228 Hastings Center Report Vol 5, No 3, June, 1975, p 9”
I want to find out what happened to the guy (Brief summary, Fighter Jet Jockey discharged from the army gets involved in a propane explosion that kills his father, and burns him over the majority of his body, and leaves him blind and deaf with little use of his hands, and he wants to die). My bet is that he was not allowed to leave the hospital, but died a few months later due to infection/complication.
Now I found the Hastings Centre Report site (http://www.thehastingscenter.org/default.asp ) and I found this site http://www.thehastingscenter.org/hclibrary/libdefault.asp#Lib1 and it looks like if I want to find out what happened I have to actually physically go to this library. I can’t do this. so if there is someone out there that can tell me what happened in the above Case Study (ie allowed to leave and die, or died in hospital, or lived happily ever after), I would be very grateful!
Thank you in Advance
