Ironically, the more people try to assassinate Obama, the more leverage he’ll have. It makes him a martyr figure, even if he lives through it, and we all it’s damn hard to criticize someone who’s actively being shot at.
If that happens, I expect that the Republicans will speak against it in public, and cheer the assassin(s) on in private, as will fringe figures and the right wing segments of the Internet.
