I’ve asked this question on Yahoo Answers and the answer most commonly given is that I should go to a body shop. I know an undeployed one would go for several hundred dollars at least, but a deployed one, its general utility being nil, would be negligible in cost.
Salvage yard.
Ditto on the salvage yard. Back when I had a SAAB (sigh) I would frequent salvage yards for bits and pieces as they were so expensive from the dealer.
Any ways, plenty of deployed airbags to be found from all makes and models. The smaller places seemed to have the most deployed air bags as they would part the cars out for the bits and pieces. Whereas the larger places would sell parts of the car to be used and had a lot of major assemblies in stock and then just scrapped the rest.
Damn! I just had two of 'em to give you. Junkyard has 'em as of this morning.
You may have trouble finding one with any popcorn left, however. (video)
Do you have a car with airbags? There are several easy ways to obtain one from that starting point.
I have a live airbag I picked up somewhere. I see what idiots do with them on youtube, mostly involving crippling some other idiot.
I keep thinking I’ll take it over to the lake, drop it 50 feet, & hit the juice just to see what will happen. Catfish for dinner at the very least!
