Howard K. Smith died.

Apologies if this is not true CS material.

Veteran newscaster Howard K. Smith died. He was an associate of Edward R. Murrow. Among other things, he monitored the legendary Kennedy/Nixon debate. In fact, he was right there for a lot of late-20th century events.

Signing off…

:frowning:

One of the few “old school” newscasters worth watching.

That report was dated February 18th, 2002. Why do I not remember this?

Oh my god, is my face red.

I swear, I went to CNN’s home page and there it was. WTF? And why don’t I remember it either?

I thought I remembered this already happening. Maybe it just didn’t get the coverage it deserved. :frowning:

Smith:

“A recent poll shows that 44% of the American people believe that President Nixon should resign, and 51% belive in UFOs. Maybe we need a new president, but it sounds like we need a new public even more.”
