Howard Schultz considers run; urged against.

Yeah! There are lots of countries out there we could borrow from to fund tax cuts for the 1%-of-1%ers!

I’m sure that they stay up at night regretting the loss of your respect.

Also, 70% is marginal and will apply to fewer than 4,000 taxpayers, the vast majority of whom will notice a hit of 1 million or less to their take home pay under her plan. I’m not expecting to serve them in the food lines anytime soon.

I think it’s a good bit more likely that they gave up entirely on the idea of being a respectable news organization some time ago.

“fewer than 4,000 taxpayers, the vast majority of whom will notice a hit of 1 million or less to their take home pay” does not pay for much of a “Green New Deal”.

Still want to know if you even bothered to click the link, Ditka.

Not until today.

I wasn’t aware that she had ever stated that the Green New Deal would be fully funded by this taxation scheme, nor do I see it outlined that way in the actual text of the proposal (PDF). Can you point me to a cite where she makes this claim?

I didn’t say “fully” funded, but this is where I got the idea that she wanted to use the 70% tax rate on the rich to fund the “Green New Deal” from:

ETA: FWIW, I don’t see much of anything in the “actual text of the proposal” about how to pay for it. Did I just miss it? Or is it not there?

]Thank you for your honesty.

Okay, but how many pay 60 percent, or 50?

He’s not going to work on running this summer due to back surgery. At least for now all the worries he’s going to help Trump are on hold if not over for good.

The conspiracy theorist in me believes Schultz would only consider running to prevent Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren from winning. As long as Biden remains in the front runner’s position, Schultz will probably stay home. Schultz knows who and what Biden is. It’s a Sanders presidency that he’s against. He’s probably not the only billionaire willing to sabotage an election if the Democratic Socialists win.

He can certainly get back in the race next year after the Dem candidate is pretty much known. He has plenty of money to fund drives to get on the ballot in all 50 states.

I think billionaires see Trump as potentially worse for their net worth than even Bernie or Warren. The Kochs, for instance, are clearly alarmed by his protectionist trade policy.

I think he’s probably seen the writing on the wall, but his arrogance can’t let him admit to how unpopular he is.

I hope he stays away. Go back to your private life Mr. Schultz. I liked you better when I hardly knew ya.

So as a result, have they pulled funding from the numerous far-right propaganda outlets that are aiming to get Trump re-elected? I think I would have noticed.

Yeah, if there’s one thing I’m picking up in the electorate, entitled billionaires aren’t having a growth-in-popularity moment.
