Interesting site; I wish I would have known about the ‘wonder wash’. I sent my husband a washboard and a bucket that I found in an antique store. He has been there 11 months and told me not to send any more packages this time around because he is supposed to be coming home in about 3 months.
Before he told me not to send any more, I was sending a package per week to him. He said every time he got a package, a crowd of soldiers would gather around to see what he had (to share).
There’s no mention of them on the site linked to.
Thanks for the link, Reeder. Having served a tour in Viet Nam, I know first hand how much mail and care packages mean. I also have a daughter serving in the US Navy who is currently deployed in the Far East. She e-mails me her requests and I send her a care package every month.
