Are there any Hudson’s Bay Company stores in the US. and if not why?

Basically for the same reason that any Canadian or U.S. company decides not to cross the border - for instance, Target still hasn’t made the move into Canada (unless it’s happened very recently) - unless there’s room in the market space, expanding into a new market is potential disaster. The U.S. market simply does not need any more midrange department stores. There’s a zillion chains in the States that do exactly what the Bay does.
