HuluPlus Question: Can't Find NCIS on HuluPlus-Roku

I just signed up for HuluPlus on my Roku. Holy cow! What a selection. They even have some old Studio One shows from the last 1950’s.

I wanted to watch last night’s episode of NCIS. I went to Hulu.com on my computer and found the episode, but I didn’t want to watch it on the computer.

I went to the HuluPlus channel on my Roku, but the series was not there at all. Can someone explain this? I thought Hulu.com and the HuluPlus Roku channel would have the same content.

Hulu and Hulu Plus are not the same thing (Plus lets you watch on devices, not just the web), and content providers are still being idiots about allowing one but not the other. There’s a lot of stuff that’s available on Hulu but not Plus.

That is seriously weird. One would assume that more would be available on something called “plus.”

Clearly you will never make it in the world of marketing, where products will often reduce features or services “for my convenience” while charging me more.

In fact, if you had clicked on the link on the Hulu website, it probably would have just taken you to CBS.com. See here.

Oh, but I did, and it did. But I didn’t want to watch on my computer. Then I went to the CBS channel on my Roku, and NCIS wasn’t there either. I wound up paying $1.99 to watch it on Amazon Prime.

There is virtually no new streaming content from CBS available anywhere other than CBS.com. I did find a way to watch CBS on the Roku yesterday though. There is an app called Plexavailable on the Roku. You have to download it to your computer as well, but you can watch CBS shows and it’s all perfectly legal. And Free.
