I have a friend who is 43 and is taking HGH regularly and he swears by them and the wants me to try them. I am somewhat hesitant because I have heard some negative things about athletes who take very large amounts; much more than my friend takes. What’s the scoop?
I was prescribed this as a child, due to my unusually short stature. What do you want to know about it? I’ll help as much as my anecdotes will allow.
What exactly would you be taking it for?
Looking through Wikipedia, it looks like it doesn’t have a lot of major side effects, but at the same time unless you’ve got a growth hormone deficiency, it’s unlikely to produce much if any effect beyond a placebo (i.e. an muscle development or greater energy you feel is not due to the drug.) That’s if you can find the real thing, given that there’s probably a lot of fake stuff on the market.
I called my friend and he referred me to this (wiki):
GOOD EFFECTS FROM PROPER DOSAGE
In addition to increasing height in children and adolescents, growth hormone has many other effects on the body:
* Increases calcium retention, and strengthens and increases the mineralization of bone
* Increases muscle mass through sarcomere hyperplasia
* Promotes lipolysis
* Increases protein synthesis
* Stimulating the growth of all internal organs excluding the brain
* Plays a role in fuel homeostasis
* Reduces liver uptake of glucose
* Promotes gluconeogenesis in the liver[13]
* It contributes to the maintenance and function of pancreatic islets
* It stimulates the immune system
BAD EFFECTS FROM TOO MUCH, TOO LONG
Prolonged GH excess thickens the bones of the jaw, fingers and toes. Resulting heaviness of the jaw and increased thickness of digits is referred to as acromegaly. Accompanying problems can include pressure on nerves (e.g., carpal tunnel syndrome), muscle weakness, insulin resistance or even a rare form of type 2 diabetes, and reduced sexual function.
I think I’m going to start taking it. He says his dick gets harder, more often and HGH has increased his hang time considerably.
Yeah, but would you say that this is particularly better or worse than chicken noodle soup and a glass of milk? If I went through all the minerals, vitamins, and proteins of those I could probably come up with that same exact list or one comparable. They probably don’t have side effects either (unless taken in excessive doses), and are likely cheaper to get.
That all just sounds like something food does for you, not something which will make you live 20 years longer, grow pecs the size of bowling balls, and keep a hard-on for four hours on end well into your 90s. So if not, are you really spending your money on something worthwhile?
I suspect this is the reason you’re doing this, and there’s no talking you out of it. If you suffer from erectile dysfunction, there are better ways to treat it. And if you don’t have ED, are you sure you’re thinking with your brain, and not your dick?
Two heads are better than one.
I have wanted to try it too, but it is costly and difficult to obtain legally.
