Here’s an article that says scientists in China are adding human skin cells to rabbit embryos and that some scientists in massachusetts had tried doing the same thing with cows instead of rabbits. so, what would these clones be like? normal rabbits but with human skin? normal rabbits with normal rabbit skin but with human skin hanging off their noses? or some deformed-looking new hybrid species?

Cross species chimera have already been created in a similar fashion. Generally, the cells integrate themselves into a normal distribution of the host species. If it’s done early enough (in the blastocyst stage) then a true chimera is formed which is a more or less equal mixture of the two species. Look up Chimera and Transgenic on google. I did a search earlier but it seems that the key sites are down (likely due to the power outage in the east).
This seems to be a link back to this exact same thread.
Maybe he merged the threads…
Here’s a picture of the full-grown cross-breed.
Peace.
Shhhh… I’m hominizing wabbits. Heh heh heh heh.
From what I understand, this object of this experiment is not to create a mutant rabbit/human clone but to obtain embryonic stem cells. They took DNA (From foreskins I believe) and inserted it into a rabbit egg cell after sucking it’s DNA out. So what you’ll have is a rabbit egg cell (which isn’t that different from it’s human counterpart) with human DNA and rabbit mitochondrial DNA which really is a seperate thing altogether. This is good news because it means there is potentially a way around obtaining embryonic stem cells other than from aborted fetal tissue or cloning using human doner egg cells. The key is to find out whether the mitochondrial DNA will interfere or not in making the resulting stem cells viable for human transplantation.
So… when am I going to be able to pick up one of those from my local pet store?
sorry, the hybrid actually looks like this

kinda cute though
I hope those donors were planning on being circumcised anyway.
Cloning is just wrong all together!
All: “Cloning is just wrong!”
Just what a human-rabbit crosss-breed would look like, I couldn’t tell.
And don’t call me Shirley!
Aww, c’mon, you can tell us! We won’t say anything!
We’ll just have to wait for the sequel to “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”, then!
Panache i think one of the links in thish thread (the Sun News one) said they were five. from what i’ve heard, most people (or at least the jews in the old testament) are cirumcised at like 9 days old because of high levels of vitamin k to prevent bleeding.
Make it invisible, and we’ve got ourselves a Harvey.
Does that include things like vegetables and flowers?
does that also include teleportation?
