In fact I think this might be the Cracked article that has made me the saddest.
#6 (or, rather, #1*): Psychological propensities are the same thing as logical fallacies.
*And even then, not a logical fallacy, just a falsehood.
Seems to me I recently heard this as a serious political argument. Cracked might want to rethink their example.

Incidentally, all of those things are why I never set foot in GD. I can’t even read it, because all anyone ever does in a fucking forum argument is scream past each other. I’ve been making a lot of progress to stopping arguing over the internet at all, although I’m not perfect… I still slip up a lot.
Winning an argument on the internet is like jacking off. It feels good but no one cares except for you.

They’re really odd. The whole point of knowing this stuff is that by knowing it, you can prevent it. The article goes out of its way to say that you can’t defend against it.
Furthermore, it doesn’t line up with my life. I didn’t learn to not trust that people are basically good at seven. I still hold that people are basically good. I forget sometimes when I’m angry or otherwise emotional, but I always remember later.
In fact, a lot of the stuff they talk about seems to only kick in when I’m emotional. Number 4 is the only one that’s consistent, and that’s because I have an anxiety disorder.
My thoughts exactly. That kind of thing should be spoilered.
Our cleaning lady seems to care quite a bit.

2 am? You’re lucky. Some of the Cracked pages required investigations on Wikipedia and finally one sent me to Youtube. It’s now almost 10 am. Fortunately, I’m on vacations. But still. When will the admins adress this problem? :mad:
