In other Hunter Biden news, Glenn Greenwald of The Intercept completely broke down on Twitter and elsewhere today, quitting his job and then posting email exchanges between him and his (ex) bosses where they told him his Hunter Biden story was full of crap, performing some editing on it. LIKE SOME PEOPLE WE KNOW, he screamed ‘censorship’, whereupon his editors said ‘uh, no. You can go publish this elsewhere unedited, or on The Intercept, edited.’
So he quits his job and publishes his unedited story. And I’m not too sure they said he had to quit, but frankly, this decade has seen too many white conservative guys unable to control their emotions, so here we are with yet another.

Ok, so on a scale from one to 10, Trumps level of corruption is 37, and Biden’s is much lower, but even if the allegations were true where would you put his level of corruption.
I agree that it is rather unseemly to trade on the influence of a family member and on contacts with those still in power, but it is just the way the system is and it would be nearly impossible to find a politician today who isn’t tainted to some extent by this. The office holder to board member, lobbyist, celebrity speaker is a well worn track. I agree that we should not be satisfied with the current state of affairs and do our best to hold our elected officials to a higher standard, but on the other hand I can’t muster the energy to be shocked and angered when one fails to be an exception to the rule.
So assuming the allegations were true, where would you think that would put Biden in the ranking of the current set of Senators and Congressmen with 0.0 being least corrupt and 1.0 being most corrupt (I would say it probably would put him at a 0.4).
In all seriousness, 0.4 on a scale of 0.0 to 10.0.

I think we have seen the final collapse of the Hunter Biden story. Giuliani was shown to be a fraud, Bobluski is a nothing story, the NY Post story was so shoddy it was written by their most junior reporter, and in just the past 6 hours (A) Glenn Greenwald found out that Joe didn’t take advantage of the oh, so generous offer, (B) the dossier/report was proven to be a fake, (C) Tucker Carlson is calling off the attack dogs even after (D) UPS found his ‘lost’ documents.
Case. Closed!
But but but… Hillary’s emails!
Republican toadies are already starting to shift focus on how to blame Biden for the Covid pandemic.
That suggests that Tucker tried to exploit the loss of the documents by inviting his credulous fans to spin all sorts of fantastical theories about what they contained and how they got “lost”. Obviously, this strategy doesn’t work so well if the documents get found again.
My wild theory is that the FBI investigation into the laptop is and always has been targeting conservative actors who may have, either wittingly or unwittingly, become involved in foreign influence campaigns. “Yes, we’ll certainly take a look at these very serious allegations about Hunter Biden,” the agents may have said as they secretly surveilled the whole rotten bunch of them.
And now the whole thing is starting to unravel and certain people are realizing that shoes might drop.
I can dream.
I fear you’re being far too optimistic about the demise of this story. Take a look at most conservative media and you’ll still see three of four stories about it above the fold and it’s incredibly damning of the Bidens provided you’re not exposed to any other details. All their readers see is “Trusted Biden business partner confirms influence peddling!” or “Damning laptop documents stolen by UPS!”. There will undoubtedly be some low to medium information voters watching this at the gym and none of the evidence which disproves it.
To me it suggests something even more delicious- that Tucker thought these docs were the real deal, UPS lost them, driving Tucker to invent the ‘the deep state ate my dossier’ excuse, and when, the next day, when the package was finally delivered to an eager Tucker looking to break 8 million viewers for the evening with his October Surprise?
Reading it, he realized this entire thing was a piece of shit and refused to put his name on it. And after all that build up!

Not necessarily. I’m thinking of Joe Schmoe glancing at a headline on Yahoo or sitting in a restaurant watching a TV with the volume off. They’ll probably walk away believing Biden is just as bad as Trump and not vote. The painful part is it would have been so easy to do what Obama did and rebut all the “silly season” smears until no self respecting person would give them a moment’s creedence and I don’t think Biden did himself any favors by not commenting on this. When one side is using a bullhorn, you better get a bullhorn yourself or you’ve lost the battle.
I can’t wait to see Sean Hannity’s reaction. He was practically orgasmic talking about it before. I want to see him apoplectic over this.
There’s no Joe Schmoe sitting out there weighing COVID + unemployment on one side and Hunter Biden on the other. The % of undecided voters is already in the single digits, eg 4.4% undecided in NC with two weeks to go:
This election isn’t 2016 with two massively unpopular candidates going against each other, this one is pretty well baked in already (80 million votes!) and a conspiracy which Tucker Carlson, with 7.5 million viewers, the largest cable audience today, formally laid to rest. Sure there will be pieces in the conservosphere, but as a mainstream story, one which can shape the election, this one is as dead as 226,000 Americans are.
Joe Biden? 0
Nothing legit links Joe. None of the deals supposedly linked to Joe ever happened.
Hunter? .4 or so.
Hunter is not running for office.
