Hunter S Thompson is in the news one last time

This article is from a very liberal local paper and is about Hunter S Thompson’s ashes being shot out of a cannon over his property with a few colored pictures. Not a bad read, and pretty interesting for HST fans. One bit from it I particularly like:

All the signs for Woody Creek Tavern along County Road 17 and Smith Way are molested in one way or another. Some are pointing in the wrong direction, some are upside-down and the one between the Owl Farm and the tavern is riddled with bullet holes.

Figures things would make less sense once you started homing in on Hunter’s terriroty. Up would be down, black white, sandwhiches would be eating people…

He was actually also in the news in the last 2-3 days. The contents of a note he wrote a few days before he killed himself were made public. It was a very sad, short little thing. I’d link to it, but with the day I’ve had, I don’t think I’m up to it. It’s in Wikipedia and elsewhere.
