I am getting married in August and we are planning our honeymoon. It will be the 2nd week of August. We were thinking of going to the Caribbean (St. Lucia). Obviously it is impossible to predict anything that far ahead, but in general are there many hurricanes in August down there. I thought they usually came later in the year, but I don’t want to have our honeymoon turn into a tropical version of the Wizard of OZ. Any advice?
According to the National Hurricane Center, the Atlantic hurricane season is July - November. So, while early August is before the peak of the season, the possibility is there.
But I really don’t think that possibility is a compelling reason to alter your plans. And I speak as someone who has been through a Caribbean hurricane (an interesting adventure).
