Hurry Up and Wait !! or back to bed....

Really…

You requested an appointment with me 2 weeks ago. I felt REALLY BAD that I couldn’t get you on my schedule until June 4th.

Two weeks ago you gave me the impression that you were ready for me RIGHT AWAY.

I worked late last night to get ready for the 3 day road trip that started with a day working for you. I have hotel reservations. My car is packed and all the files I need are loaded up and ready.

Then last night I get an e-mail from a 3rd party - There was something they wanted me to do when I was at your job on JUNE 6TH. So I shot out copies of the confirmation e-mails showing June 4th to everyone.

So NOW I get a call…you’re not ready today.

I’m going back to bed

Ugh. I feel your pain. I have three patients (3!) I may or may not be seeing today, depending on whether other people have done their jobs yet or not (if they’ve done their jobs, I don’t have to go see them; if they haven’t done their jobs, I have to go out and do it for them). I’m guessing they’ve not, but nobody will be around for another hour yet to even ask.

And the new neighbor kid woke me at 5 am having sex with his girlfriend out in the backyard on my new bench. And left his used condom behind. Ew.

sigh Maybe I’ll go back to bed for an hour, too.

Bill them.

Seriously - was not your fault they begged and then bailed.
Just smile. go back to bed. and when their bill arrives add the cost of overtime preparation and travel costs.

BTW, I hate it when doctors charge you the deductible medical fee if you cancel your appointment at the last minute, but you have no recourse when they cancel your appointment at the last minute, or keep you waiting for four hours in the waiting room.
