Husband has gone off deep end, help me take advantage!

Still in the running:

Vancouver
Cabo San Lucas
Kaua’i, Hawaii

(I’m going to eliminate Tahoe because that’s really a weekend trip. I also have a good friend that lives there so I’m bound to go soon anyway. Sili, you’ll still get a postcard from there.)
Any other great suggestions? FTR, I will inform you all by Monday who wins the t-shirt and postcard. Oh hell, I’ll even throw in a sno-globe too!

I don’t want to be difficult, here, but if you have a competent nanny, maybe you should sneak away with your workaholic hubby by yourselves, and leave her home with the little ones.

This will give you an opportunity to remind him of all the reasons why he is married to you and not into chasing said nanny. If I sound paranoid, I am sorry. I guess I just read too many news stories, hear too many brokenhearted women discussing the perils of having said young nannies, and etcetera.

{duck and run}

Having said that, I live in the Pacific NW, and there is nothing more beautiful than the PNW in the summer. Banff, Seattle, you can’t go wrong. HEY! I have got it! How about the San Juan Islands? There are so many beautiful, peaceful places to go where you can get away and relax, with beaches and ferries and all sorts of fun stuff for everyone.

Sorry if I disparaged your (undoubtedly} trustworthy husband and nanny.

Yes, come to Hawaii!! We love tourists here!!

Seriously, please do. I live on Oahu, but I hear Maui is where it’s happening. Oahu has kinda lost the “island” appeal… It’s great for shoppers, though. But if it’s scenic island beauty, go for Maui or Kauai.

Oh yes, nice place. I live in vancouver. If you like hiking/climbing there are amazing trails all around the city. Spend time in whistler if you want a little bit of luxury. Great places to go horse-back riding, swimming in lakes, swimming in the ocean. Pretty much anything you could want. The scuba diving is apparently amazing along the coast, although I can’t atest to that myself. I suggest talking to a travel agent. I’m sure they could give you great information.

May I humbly suggest :::::::**Spam Jam ! **

You could hit it on your way out to the Polka Festival

Here is the info,: Ask.com - What's Your Question?

(crap that’s long and if it doesn’t work, I blame society.)

I take a medium shirt.

Go on a cruise!!! I went on a Carnival Cruise ship to Jamaica, Cayman Islands (Where you can even visit a town called Hell), and Cozumel! No passport needed. We had the best time. There are plenty of things to keep children and adults occupied! 24 hour buffet, scuba diving, swimming with sting rays, casino, game room, dance club, Formal Dinners, shopping, comedy clubs, magic shows, movies… the list goes on and on. A cruise is definately the way to go. But be sure to pack some dramamine.

Nope. I live in Ontario - Tecumseh, to be precise. The Humidity Capital of Canada. Average summer day here - temperature in the 30’s (that’s 90’s F), with 100% humidity, making it impossible to breathe and making it feel 10-30 degrees hotter.

I love it here anyway

It’s not just Alabama. It extends east along the coast in the Florida Panhandle. The water’s clear and not real deep. In places you can wade out for a 1/4 mile or more and only be up to your waist.

Note: this is the widest message I have ever seen.

Hawaii is in hurricane season,dear.

This really wide thing is freaking me out, I have no idea what causes it.
Is it the poster? Is it me?
How do you make it stop?
What’s with that? Who likes this thing, why do they have this thing?

Well, on behalf of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, we are hereby extending our invitation to you, Mr. and Mrs. Sue and the tiny Suelings (Suelettes?), to come visit us in the Sunshine State. You have diving in the Keys and Disney World for the little ones.

The average temp. is 95 degrees right now, with 100% humidity and we too are in our hurricane season. (How’s that for a sales job?)

It’s Shirley’s fault.

Well, if I can’t get you to Seattle then I switch my vote to Vancouver. (“Is that Vancouver, Washington, or Vancouver, BC?” And the hunter says, “You tell me!”) But take the ferry over to Victoria for a day.

p.s. You’d still be pretty close to Seattle – we could meet you halfway (Bellingham?) so you could buy us dinner.

To me the idea of a vacation is get yourself into a different environment as possible.
I’ve seen a lot of people suggest you go to their towns… where do THOSE people go on vacation?

Anyway, a few of my favorite touristy spots are (in no
particular order)

Boston: Quincy Market, Fun town, lots of history, good
metro system to get you around.

Washington DC. Has Georgetown, TONS OF HISTORY, cleanest
metro system I’ve ever seen. Great for kids if they’re of
site-seeing age.

San Francisco. Alcatrez. Probably too close for you to
consider a vacation spot.

I wouldn’t go anywhere too far south. (i.e. Texas) It’s hot as hell there right now, and it’s only going to get hotter.

Now to jump on the band wagon. Atlanta is a nice now.
(That’s where I livc now) Six Flags, Stone Mt., Braves game if you like sports. cylorama (stupid name, but pretty cool. It’s a big mural painting that circles a whole room depicting the Civil War.

Have fun where ever you go!

Well, living up to my username, I have to suggest Yosemite National Park. You could stay at Yosemite Lodge (where you can hear Yosemite Falls gently roaring at night) or Ahwahnee (sp?) Hotel. (Beautiful historical hotel, expensive, but plush.) Both are in Yosemite Valley. Or, Wawona Hotel, on the southern border of the Park (45 min. drive to the Valley from Wawona - no biggie.) Great historical hotel, and golf! (If your husband is into that.) Lots to see in Yosemite Valley, you don’t have to do a lot of hiking. (I’ve taken my handicapped sister there a lot.) You’re only a 4-5 hour’s drive away! Check out: http://yosemite.org

On second thought - it’s the busy season in Yosemite, and it might be hard to get reservations. Maybe next year? But if you haven’t gone recently, you should. People from all over the world visit Yosemite! And it’s in your own back yard! Ya gotta go!

We are in hurricaine season six months out of the year (June to December) but right now, the weather here is great. We’ve had so many perfect “beach days” that I am appalled that I don’t own a swimsuit.

Besides, we haven’t had a hurricaine pass through in nearly 8 years.
