Gabby will really hit those microphones and those cameras, fighting off anyone who tries to help her, defending America even if it means her own death, rallying a nation of television viewers to hysteria, to sweep us up into the White House with powers that will make martial law seem like anarchy!
I, for one, would be horrified if someone tried to kill, or did kill Palin. It would seem to me to be the opening shot in an ugly civil war. She isn’t going to run for anything as long as she can make money not running. She’s dumb, not stupid.
As for being a lefty, I am of the opinion that Sarah is the gift that keeps on giving. She refuses to go away, and she is destroying the Republican party’s usual duplicity. Thanks to Sarah, we now have Boehner as Weeper of the House.
And, she’s still kinda cute in a MILF sort of way. (Although she’s younger than I am, so MILF probably isn’t correct). Plus we have those great pictures of Alaska from her TV show. I’ve been in person, and boy is it a wonderful place. Except during mosquito season.
As for lefties on this board celebrating such an assassination, I suppose it would happen, but there are righties on this board who would also celebrate because it would prove them correct about one or two lefties celebrating. Really, celebrating an assassination is sick. Making jokes about it would be wicked sick.

Seriously, though, when your argument consists of hypotheticals (and is confirmed by other folks’ speculation about hypotheticals), and moves into straight up "I don’t believe you"s, you need to think on the beam in your own eye. Until you add some content to your posts instead of the silly content-free sophistries you’ve been using so far, there’s not much point in responding; the mistake I made wasn’t in responding with silliness, but in responding at all.

I’m not hypocritical… I don’t think “enemy” is that bad. Nor do I think using bulls-eyes or targets or saying “dead to me” influenced this whack job no matter who said it.

Yes, the situation in the OP is hypothetical. Perhaps it’s worth exploring why it’s far less realistic a possibility than what did happen? Why it’s imaginary?

I think a Palin shooting would have been a bigger event than Giffords’ shooting.
While Palin doesn’t hold any current office, she is much better known than Gifford was.
And without wanting to turn this into another trainwreck, I think that Palin’s supporters are more subject to public displays of outrage than Giffords’ are.
Unless Palin’s shooter turned out to be a moose, in which case a strong argument for self-defense could be made.
Damned if I know why it would be our fault, other than our pointing out that she’s ignorant, stupid, and has already proven she has no business running a small town, let alone a nation, and that the tree of liberty is refreshed by people not voting for idiots like her. But there’s no doubt in their minds that it would be the fault of lefty libruls like me. Because also, too.
You guys do realize that Palin gets regular death threats, right? You seem to think that liberals are all peace and love, whereas it’s the wacky right ready to run around and kill people. But the left is just as likely to resort to violence.
In fact, not only does Palin get death threats, but so do her children.
Since the Gifford shooting, the number of death threats against Palin have apparently increased substantially.

I doubt all of that very seriously. Michelle Obama alone probably gets more in one day than Palin’s ever gotten in her life. I’m not buying that Palin gets that many at all, except maybe from dissatisfied teabaggers.
