I’m in Costco and happen by the TV sets as the national anthem is playing at the ballpark downtown. I couldn’t score tickets like Jdailey so I have to watch on the tube. Jewel is doing a very good job on The Star Spangled Banner and then they cut to the New York firmen pulling the flag up the angled pole. I’m not sure if they brought the pole from the WTC or made a recreation but still. Then a formation of jets flying over, probably F-16s from Luke, not a demonstration team AFAIK. Those jets are there to defend the people in the ball park. Not in the abstract, but in the most literal sense of the term. I just about lost it.

Gotta run. Womack is on second and Gonzo is at the plate.

Those F-16’s flew over my apartment complex on their way to BOB.

It looked to me like the army guys were reconstructing the Iwo Jima flag deal and the firemen were reconstructing the WTC flag deal.

Didn’t cry until I heard “God Bless America”. Geez.

And I don’t like Jewel, but she did a nice job. Looked awfully cute too.
