I Agree with Everything She Said, and yet, NNNYYYRRRRRAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

Okay, Chicago Fox News, last night…

Lisa Madigan is proposing a new law in Illinois, which would be the first in the nation if it gets passed. She wants all rape kits to be delivered to forensic labs within ten days of collection. No more rape kits sitting around in police storage rooms for years on end.

Of course, how long they would wind up sitting around in understaffed forensic labs is another question. But that’s not my point.

I agree with this potential law. I think it’s a travesty how many rapists are left free to roam the streets, while the evidence to put them away lays collecting dust on some unregarded shelf.

But here’s what Ms Madigan had to say on her news appearance last night:

“We HAVE to pass this law! We HAVE to for the sake of wom…not just women, for the sake of CHILDREN everywhere!”

Here’s where the NNNNYYYYYRRRRRAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!! part comes in for me.

WTF??? I mean, seriously, WHAT. THE. FUCK!!! Now, I am no expert, but I am willing to bet that of all the untouched rape kits lying around, damn near NONE of them are from the rape of a child. Jesus Christ, if a child is raped by some stranger, you’d better believe that the rape kit from that particular case is going straight to forensics and getting worked on before any of the other rape kits from that area!!

No, these leftover bags of telltale DNA are undoubtedly from rapes that nobody but the victim gives a shit about. Poor women, minority women, redneck women,
drunk and drug using women, street women, plain average women. There might even be some men in that mix. But you can bet, it’s mostly from the rapes of fully grown women.

And yet, we HAVE to pass this law for the sake of CHILDREN??

Are we so scared of being branded Feminazis that even the most obvious of women’s issues must be dressed up as a “children’s issue” in order to be taken seriously? Have we really regressed that far from gender equality? Is the sake and safety of women really so worthless a cause, that we have to slap a baby on board label on it so it won’t be disregarded as yet more whiny bitchiness?

This is stupid. Anyone want to go ride bikes?

Oooh, me!!! There’s this big ass hill in my neighborhood, and we can pull our bikes up to the top, and then go shooting down!!! It’s really cool!

Yeah but, that hill has the guy with the van who gives out candy at the end of it. Can’t we go play in the abandoned house on Maple street instead?

You don’t understand. It’s the children who need to know the *results *of the rape tests, so they can judge how much of a whore mommy is.

Wouldn’t you rather go out clubbing? If you dress slutty enough, lots of men will bring you free drinks!

Why isn’t the OP thinking about the children instead of making silly noises?

Thank you, Seth MacFarlane, for making rape funny again.

You mean Brooks Orpik? (God, I swear, almost post I encounter today has something that relates to the Pens – maybe that’s a good omen!)

[Fatherly voice] You kids wear your helmets now. [/Fatherly voice]

Wait… big hill, AND candy?

Meet ya there-- I’ll be the one with the sting-ray with the Leopard-print banana seat.
And coontails on the handgrips.
And a Hank Aaron rookie card in the spokes.

Nobody objects to the phrase “what about the children?” It’s just that some of us stress the final word, while others emphasize the second.

See, I stress the first. Kinda: WHAT!?! about the children?

A Canadian friend of mine says, “What aboot the children?” with no stress anywhere.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Oh, and we were asking for it, except it never happened because we’re lying whores. Yeah, that’s it.

I can’t wait until an anti-children group forms in the mainstream. I’m going to be the first one to sign up!

I got a sweet ramp I made out of some paint cans and wood my dad had in the garage.

Maybe so, but I bet he never did the Kenosha Kid.

Rape kits don’t get processed because of the cost. Unless it’s needed to convict someone (they have a suspect, and suspect a match) it’s just an expense that stretched police budgets can’t bear.

Sit down and do the math, processing ever rape kit would bankrupt every police department in the country.

My advice, keep thinking.

But what about the children?

I mentioned in my starting statement that rape kits would probably just sit around forensic labs instead of sitting around police evidence lockers if this law is passed. Money is indeed an issue.

Of course if more rape kits were processed and the results entered into a national database, more rapists would be caught, even if a suspect is not in custody at that very moment for a particular rape.

But again, this was not my point in starting this thread. My point was that feminism has regressed to such a point that issues that are seen as women’s issues have to be disguised as something totally irrelevant to women in order to be taken seriously. It is better to frame women’s issues as children’s issues, lesbian issues, racial issues, economic issues, rather than the label of women’s issues, because we’ve gotten beyond sexism now. The genders are absolutely equal. Yes, they are. Because they are. Dammit, they are, why are you being such a bitch about this?

When was the last time you heard the word Chauvinist?

Because it’s a women’s issue, there is zero interest in raising money to process rape kits and to build a national database of sexual predators. But if it’s pedophiles we’re after, we’ve got a shot at some cash. Those poor little kids.

There’s been only two relevant responses to my thread. Otherwise it’s all been jokes.

Women’s issues. Good for laughs anyway.

It’s a hell of a come down from “I am woman, hear me roar.”
