The American Red Cross Frequent Blood Donor Program has named me a Champion for Life . What are the benefits, you ask?
I get a spiffy gold credit-card type card, with my name and Red Cross ID number embossed on the front.
I have a dedicated hotline that I can use to schedule my next blood donation.
VIP treatment when I go to a blood donor center.
A special website accessible only with my membership name and password.
Special donor recognition.
Is this great stuff, or what?
How many donations do you need in order to get this exalted status?
I’m two donations short of two gallons; I’ve been giving pretty steadil since June, 1999.

Lightweight! I don’t even know how much I’ve given over the years since I have lost cards, given to different people. I’ve been giving for 12 years now except for the three or so when I got tats so I’ve got to be up near four gallons. Wonder why they never offered me anything like that.
Hey, I’m working on it.
Probably because the Red Cross here has been begging for blood for the past several months. They’ll do anything to get people to give.
