I’m pretty sure that most breeds of domesticated cattle and sheep have a difficult time surviving in the wild. Goats can take care of themselves, but they’re quite a bit brighter and hardier than cattle and sheep. Domesticated turkeys are about as brainless as any critter with a spinal cord (I speak from experience here).

I get cranky, too, and often, but when explaining how great the natural world is, hold me tongue to any initial ignorance, and let it flow to encouragement of learning. Yep, mebbe that guy was all up in himself with his Important Moth… the trick is to get him to see how that moth is understood well beyond his importance.
