I am a Redditor. AMA

That’s right, ask me anything.

What’s a Redditor?

Damnit. That was my question.

Someone who edits The Daily Worker.

One step behind 4chan, one step ahead of SDMB, five steps ahead of the Yahoo banner?

Mine as well.

One step ahead of the shoeshine.
Two steps away from the county line.
Just trying to keep my customers satisfied.

Uh-oh. Those damn Ping-Pangians have their own Robot…

What’s your favorite /Gonewild?

C’mon, get it right: it’s r/Gonewild

(or should it be ಠ_ಠ ?)

Damn! Beaten by… six and a quarter hours. Just missed it.

No you are not. You haven’t attached a picture of a cat.

Bacon. Narwhal. Rage face. Upvote. Downvote.

I have also been guilty of frequenting that place.

I spend way too much time on Reddit!

Look Mr. or Ms. Redditor, you’re on the Dope now. The convention is “Ask the…” None of us knows from AMA, except maybe Qadgop the Mercotan.

please don’t downvote me

/r/answers is the GQ for the 2010s.

I like /r/askscience. It’s a lot like General Questions.

Do you guys have a dedicated contingent of my little pony fans? Or do you make fun of it as much as goons do?

How much wood would a woodchuck really chuck?

What’s with the semi-nationalist culture that’s built up there recently? I mean, you identify yourself as a redditor as opposed to a frequent visitor, so maybe you can explain.

When the site was a lot smaller, I understood the appeal of meeting someone else who also happened to post/lurk. I’d say that’s the way it is with Dopers.

But now, people within Reddit’s target market pretty much already know what the site is, and the whole “I’m a redditor” has become far too akin to 4-chan’s /b/tards. Which is sad, because I think Reddit initially drew such a diverse/intelligent following due to its opposition to that sort of culture.

And it seems like this is tied to the overuse of stupid inside-joke memes to the point where That Guy everyone knows is walking around wearing shirts with ragefaces and the reddit alien.

I feel like this is the path Digg took, but on a much larger scale.

Thoughts?
