I am another Firefly convert

 Tsai boo shr!

This ain’t Narnia we’re talking about. There can be no fathomable reason for viewing the eps in the Devil’s Order. That’s what killed the show in the first place!

DVD order, please! Dong ma?

I knew I liked you for some reason.

The broadcast presentation order was out of sequence and nonsensical at best. View them in the order they’re presented in the box set; the stories actually build on one another to greater and lesser extents, and watching them out of order will lose some of the continuity.

Stranger

Me too! Me too! I’m converted.

When I saw the movie, I said to myself “THIS is what the last Star Wars movies should have been like”. Great acting, cools stories, terrific dialogue. Any holes in the fabric are forgiven because of that. And thanks for the info about the DVD’s and the episode order. I’d wondered about that.

This is one of the more common criticisms I’ve seen, and IIRC Joss has stated outright that he hadn’t watched either Cowboy Bebop or Outlaw Star before making Firefly. I think it’s really just a case of similar premises… and Firefly did it best by far, in my book. YMMV.

Still holding onto that last episode. Refuse. To. Watch. It. Damn him for making the second and third-to-last episodes such damn tearjerkers.

Chur ni-duh! Read the question again. She asked about either 1) as shown on TV, or 2) as presented on DVD. Ta ma duh! I’m not stupid. :stuck_out_tongue:

Shouldn’t that be an orange knit hat?

-Troy McClure SF, who just completed season one of Buffy and is eyeing the Chosen Collection.

True enough. In fact my mom sells just shiny Jayne hats on Ebay :). If you want a direct link drop me an email and I’ll hook you up.

9 actors + Serenity + River’s feet for a total of 11 characters

oooh, Jayne hats. How much does she sell them for? I want one for Mr. Lissar.

“Am I a lion? Well I do have a mighty roar.”

Great episode.

I don’t want to cross any lines with the forum mods, so I’ll email you info

I tried to email you Lissar but your email got returned to me, drop me an email.

You should watch it someday though! It’s one of the better ones. And it’s not a tear-jerker (except for that one scene where the credits start roling and you realize there are no more Firefly episodes to watch).

If you sit there long enough, the DVD starts playing from the beginning again.

It’s not a criticism, as I’ve said. And indeed it is possible that he hadn’t. I find the odds of two series having a woman who was the result of a genetic experiment making their debut, butt-naked in a suitcase to be rather improbable–but hey if one person was able to come up with it, there’s no reason a second can’t as well.

Another recent convert checking in.
Over the Xmas break, a friend rented the *Serenity * movie and I watched it.
Then, last month, I bought my own copy–and the novelization.
Then I bought the *Firefly * DVD set.
Now I’m going throught the whole set for the second time, with the commentaries.
I got “Those Left Behind” and the RPG book from my local comic shop.
Last weekend I converted my friend, Kelvin, to the faith.
Now I have the *Visual Companion * and *Finding Serenity * on the way from Amazon, and I have my eye on the action figures…
Shiny!

Oh, we’re in agreement. Where we had some parting of the ways was your contention that “You will find arguments for both sides”. Obviously, any doin’ such arguin’ best get off our gorram ship!

Firefly marathon, my place this weekend. My friends trust my (our - some are lurkers here) taste. There was one who wasn’t ready to commit but I showed him screencaps of YoSafBridge and he jumped right on the bandwagon.

You know, this is the closest I’ve ever come to organized religion.

Sage Rat, River isn’t a genetic experiment!

Neither is Melfina technically, but the idea holds.
