I am going to switch to FOX for a week or two.

Here’s one advertiser who says he advertises on Fox because the viewers are gullible idiots.

Scott Jordan, you just Ratnered yourself. Don’t insult the products, don’t insult your customers - whatever you think in private, in public just shut up, smile and take their money.

On an aside, I have to say it was tons of fun being only able to read 7 lines of unobscured text at a time. What is with this bad design?

Really? I see the whole article

What I saw was a video on the bottom of the screen without a close button, covering up text, and then a weird scrolling text bar on the top that covered up the rest. So I could only see 7 lines of text at time.

Going back, the scrolling text on the top is gone, but the video still covers about half of the lines. So now I get 10 lines. This time, I took a screenshot.

Oh wow, totally different than what I see on my screen. Makes me realize the flaw of posting links. I’ve clicked on links that people have posted, only to be asked to “click here to pay $$ to subscribe & view content”…

Not sure how to prevent this/see what other computers & browsers are seeing.

Caught a little Ingraham tonight. She was highlighting a part of today’s Manafort trial in which the prosecutors laid out evidence of Manafort’s “lavish lifestyle.” $900,000+, just spent on suits, and the judge quipped something like, “all that money and he still wasn’t well dressed.” Not bad.

The point was, the judge himself said that Manafort’s wealth was irrelevant. The dude made $60 million just off of his work with Ukraine, and the gist was that it is not a crime to be rich. It isn’t a crime to blow the whole $60 million. At least Laura wasn’t bullshitting us tonight.

What was not mentioned is that it Is a crime to keep a lifestyle like that going by basically robbing banks. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is ultimately what this trial is about, no?

Well, they handed it off to Tucker Carlson, who proceeded to treat the whole affair as partisan Democratic Party vengeance. Why, Al Capone was only Sentenced to 11 years and he was a far worse criminal, so why is Manafort Facing 300+ years for fraud?!!?!?

Well I don’t know, and Tucker didn’t say. The trial is not complete and we yet await the verdict. Instead he brought on David Fucking Nunez who argued that the whole thing was a product of liberal media bias (greatly paraphrasing). Tucker tried to get Nunez to send him redacted information from the FISA warrant, then pleaded to the audience for Anyone to send him the redacted info so that he could put it on the air ASAP, reminiscent of Trump asking Russia for Hillary’s emails, live on the air.

Wtf?

Yeah… the guy who took time out of his day… on the birthday of Trayvon Martin to mock his death? Nah. I’m seriously hoping that Shapiro dies a slow agonizing death… hopefully a painful disease as I’d rather not his death affect anyone else…

Before you do I would recommend watching the documentary The Brainwashing of My Dad on Amazon Prime. Someone on here mentioned it once and I watched it. It is about how the Filmmaker’s Dad changed when he started listening and watching Conservative Media. I found it very interesting.

Now Ingraham is focusing on the media’s abusive treatment of Trump. A guy pointed out a Harvard study claiming that 90% of things in the “media” were anti-Trump. As if these media people, who are “from a particular subset of America”, are on a mission to “de-legitamize” this president.

Did he mention wether or not the media matter was factual, accurate, or well-reasoned? He did not.

Let’s see if I can make a point about why “the media” can’t be blamed for inconvenient truths. Climate change is not an issue because “the media” report on it. Professional scientists performing formal science experiments have published reams of articles in peer-reviewed journals describing and explaining the phenomenon. Get a science education and look it over for yourself- climate change is the going hypothesis, on the basis of a metric crapton of research.

So if some demagogue comes along and tells the people, “climate change is a hoax”, without ever even attempting to refute any of the conclusions of the professional research, the media is not on a quest to de-legitamize the president by reporting the discrepancy between his words and the research. If anything, the president de-legitamizes himself by constantly and publicly demonstrating that he is either lying or ignorant. Blaming “the media” is pro-Trump, I suppose, if you assume your audience won’t notice that you are bullshitting them. If you do get caught though, it is not a good look.
Ok, I don’t think FOX has destroyed my previous worldview. Yet. Maybe if I were 20 years older I would be more vulnerable.

Just to be clear, I wasn’t asking you to do anything. I was just frustrated with the site. It’s not your fault.

One effect of this little commitment is that I am just not watching as much TV. That should be worth a point.

I took in a little tonight. First, an ex-military guy made a comment about Sharia and jihad being an existential threat to America and I had to

But then they had one of those look at these liberal stooges segments where they went onto college campuses asking the students about the first amendment, broadcasting the ones who got it wrong. If you believe FOX is pitched to people who are not very informed, at least it is a little educational when it comes to the Constitution.

I find it perfectly acceptable to watch Fox News.

Just plug in the headphones and crank up some Primus while it’s on. :joy:
