I am hitting the bottle too often

Thankfully here in Krakow, Tobasco is available all over, even at small little mini-marts similar to a 7-11 (I say thankfully because Polish cuisine, while often tasty tends to be a little on the bland side, spice-wise, (maybe especially to someone like myself whose favorite “ethnic” fares are Mexican, Indian and Louisiana/Cajun) but a year or so back I was flabbergasted to see Louisiana brand sauce for sale at a Carrefour supermarket. (Carrefour is a French based outfit)

I couldn’t believe my eyes, as I don’t think I ever saw Louisiana brand for sale back in Utah, or possibly anywhere else in the USA outside the state of Louisiana itself, so I grabbed a couple of bottles and put them in the cart. After I got to the cashier and paid for my groceries, I thought to myself, “What the hell are you doing?!?” and went and got 6 more…

A good call, as I have never seen it for sale here anywhere again since.

(Overall Crystal is my personal favorite too, but it was nice to get something besides Tobasco, which is to me mostly just burn, not actual flavor)

Louisiana is very nice. It’s funny, because here where I live in Chicago, there’s a Polish-centric grocery store I go to that has a lot of imported products. I recently bought a (imported Polish) Hellmann’s “extra hot” ketchup that actually had a bit of a kick to it. Not Tabasco hot, but a bit hotter than what I expected Polish “extra hot” to be.
